AGRI-COOL

The overall objective of AGRI-COOL is, firstly, to develop a low-cost, container-sized solar energy solution that generates and stores cold using an ice-based TES system and, secondly, to demonstrate its economic, environmental and social-technical feasibility for five off-grid urban locations on the African continent.

The proposal demonstrates innovative sustainable renewable energy solutions that improve climate adaptation and mitigation potential over other technologies/solutions in social, economic and environmental contexts in Africa.

Fourteen entities are involved in this project: Universiteit Twente, University of the Western Cape, University of Lleida, Blue Sky Renewable Energy, Lib Pack and Wattega, among others.
